It never fails to amaze me how many people don't bother to shop around!

They often buy the first item they see either in a shop or on the internet, get it home or have it delivered, only to find out at a later date, from a friend, workmate or a neighbour, they could have bought the same item or service for far less money.

As a consumer, before you make any purchase, whether it's a product or a service - you owe it to yourself to take the time to shop around for the lowest price, the best quality, and what guarantees and after sales service is offered.

  • Never succumb to high-pressure sales pitches.
  • Never pay for a "free" prize.
  • Consider quality. The lowest price may not be the best value.
