Headline:
World Oil crises deepens as it's revealed that reserves
are at an all time low.
Date: 11th August
2015
As emergency petrol rationing came into effect last night it
has now emerged that World Oil reserves are at an all time low. Despite major
exploration in Alaska and the Russian tundra and potential offshore sites, Esso
and Shell have revealed that no more economical major oil fields can be found -
anywhere in the World. Natural gas reserves in the UK remain secure for now,
but due to diesel shortages supertanker ships have been curtailed from
delivering tanker supplies from Malaysia and the Far East.
Since OPEC announced in June they were reducing oil
production by 45% in order to preserve current reserves, the World economy has
been in turmoil. £123 billion was wiped off FTSE last week sparking a
selling panic on all World markets. The deepening economic crises caused an
emergency debate in the House of Commons that has been on-going for the past
three days. The emergency services are now poised to deliver food to collection
centres around the UK as supermarkets are unable to guarantee supplies due to
diesel rationing. Sources in the USA have revealed that the remaining holiday
jets may have been grounded and only USAF and commercial aircraft will be
permitted to fly out of USA airspace.
In an emergency television appearance the Prime Minister,
Peter Radcliffe stated, "It has been a very difficult time for everyone. Never
before have we been faced with such a crises, but I implore people not to
panic."
Can you imagine a World without oil?
No
petrol to run your car. No diesel to run trucks. No aircraft flying. No massive
food production or delivery. During the past 100 years the WHOLE of our modern
economy has been built on OIL - but it could take less than 120 years to
exhaust oil reserves that took millions of years to accumulate on our small
planet. As we plunder and rape our natural resources World Governments fiddle
while Rome starts to burn. Even if we started NOW to develop and build
alternative energy sources - it may be too late. And we certainly can't build
any major structure once we have come close or start running out of
oil!
Recent planned Wind Farms turbine towers, both offshore and on
the UK mainland, has bought protests from environmental and other groups.
Those who are protesting now will no doubt be the first to
protest as electricity and fuel costs start to increase substantially over the
next few years - and eventually, their cars will be useless and a flight on an
aircraft will NOT be possible!. Perhaps if they (and all of us) were aware that
World Governments are hiding the truth from the general public - and that in
the next 10 to 15 years both oil & gas will be in very short supply and
could well be on the verge of running out!
Both China & Asia are now using oil at a more rapid rate
than was anticipated - and the USA continues to use 26% of ALL world oil
supplies annually - and continues to ignore the Kyoto agreement on CO2
emissions!
This scenario is well documented in the book, Hubbert's Peak:
"The Impending World Oil Shortage", by Kenneth S. Deffeyes.
EVERY person should take the time to read this book that's a
frightening eye opener. (see:
www.hubbertpeak.com )
As Deffeyes vividly illustrates in his book, he states categorically, "no
renewable energy projects can be brought on at a sufficient rate to avoid a
bidding war for the remaining oil."
A
good friend of mine who worked on a ship taking seismic readings from every
ocean worldwide was made redundant earlier this year - because the company
cannot find anymore profitable oil fields! This speaks volumes.
North Sea oil & gas production has peaked and is now in
steep decline, as did the US oil supplies did in 1973, and as World oil
production did just last year.
Wind Power in Denmark now supplies 12% of all their electric
power. By 2020 this will have increased to over 20% - probably still not enough
to avert the impending oil & gas shortages (if they last that long!).
When I was in Denmark last year I saw hundreds of Wind
generators - they did not appear as a blot on the landscape, but as a glorious
monument to the shape of things to come.
We
in the UK are planning far too late, because even if we started an immediate
full blown program of Wind, Solar, Hydro Electric, Tidal & Wave Power, the
stuff that now drives ALL our economies such as oil and gas supplies, may well
have all been exhausted! And we don't really want nuclear power stations - do
we?
Perhaps our best hope is to develop the best energy source
available - Geothermal energy. It's right beneath out feet and will last as
long as the Earth exists - and with deep drilling technologies is well within
reach of the UK.
Of
course, there are alternative forms of energy - but so long as petroleum
companies make massive profits and governments continue to raise enormous
revenues from fuel taxes, the motivation to build alternative energy sources
will continue to be neglected. Can you imagine a World where all oil and gas
has run out? Be prepared - it's the shape of things to come.
When crunch time comes (within my lifetime) and planes stop
flying, and cars won't operate on thin air - I wonder how all those protesters
will feel?
